La Oveja Negra Eatery Welcomes You! ¡Bienvenidos! My name is Anel Galicia, Co-Founder of La Oveja Negra, formerly known as Rica Barbacoa and Consomé. My mom, Doña Ruth—La Señora de la Barbacoa—and I started preparing the most delicious and authentic Barbacoa, Pancita, and Consomé in 2001. We would sell it out of our home, and our guests were many. No matter where we moved, they would loyally follow. Throughout our journey, we have had the rewarding experience of growing alongside our customers—from their first child to their college send-off. For over 20 years, we have celebrated and rooted for them. Our food is an expression of our hospitality, and it is a privilege to witness the progress in our guests' lives. As our journey continues, we remain committed to preparing the original and authentic Barbacoa, Consomé, and Pancita—just as you would find it sold in the tianguis (bazaar) of Mexico City. Our mission remains the same: to create an experience where every guest, through food, can embrace the joy of living life gregariously, in good company, and gathered around the table. - Anel Galicia
